Oil product price forecasts for the four major refining centres

The Oil Product Price Report is created especially for oil market participants who need reliable forecasts of oil prices, along with expert analysis and comment. The latest issue assessed the outlook for oil price for the four major refining centres.

Rotterdam

Having seen limited gains in June, Rotterdam average refining margins collapsed in July as middle distillate crack spreads fell. The premium of Dated Brent to WTI opened an arbitrage window that drew US supplies across the Atlantic, preventing any significant tightening. This premium is expected to narrow over the coming months, but in 3Q11 will remain sufficiently high to ensure that Rotterdam crack spreads remain under pressure. With Rotterdam average refining margins in the doldrums, refinery runs are likely to remain low over the coming months.

CGES

The IBH Refining Economics course aims to promote a better understanding of the key refinery business performance levers, and the techniques and tools used to optimise and improve business performance. It is intended for Supply and Refinery Business Analysts and Refinery technical support engineers with at least 1-2 years of refinery experience and some understanding of refinery operations and blending. Participants will improve their understanding of the principles of refinery optimisation, and how refinery raw materials, intermediate streams and products are produced, blended and valued.
