About
A Corporate Perspective on Funding, Risk and Growth

This intensive three-day programme provides participants with a practical understanding of how trade finance supports the physical movement of energy and commodity flows.

Unlike traditional bank-focused trade finance courses, this workshop examines trade finance from the perspective of commodity traders, oil & gas companies, corporate treasurers and finance professionals who must manage liquidity, risk and growth in volatile markets.

Participants will learn how successful energy companies structure transactions, finance inventory, manage payment and shipping risks, negotiate effectively with banks and optimise working capital across the entire trade cycle. The programme combines real-world case studies, transaction simulations and practical exercises based on actual commodity trading scenarios.

Special attention is given to the financing challenges faced in international oil, gas and commodity markets, including inventory finance, borrowing base structures, pre-export facilities, documentary risks, sanctions compliance and treasury implications.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to evaluate trade finance structures not simply as financing tools, but as strategic instruments that support profitability, liquidity management and business growth.
