The Oil Trader Academy programme is structured as hands-on presentations followed by trading real market scenarios on computer simulations.

The Oil Trader Academy course offers an up-to-date and innovative look at trading petroleum products and includes a trader’s analysis of supply and demand, as well as underlining the key opportunities in the marketplace. The course will be fully interactive with teams analysing positions and learning through case studies and trading simulations.

Module 1: Physical Crude & Products Trading

This module explore trading mechanics, including demand, supply, refining, contract types and risk management, and delves into crude oil pricing, shipping, and the nuances of product trading. Participants will gain a solid foundation in the physical oil market’s complexities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of industry fundamentals.

Module 2: Trading Simulation, Paper Trading & Price Risk Management

14 – 28 June 2024 | ICE Europe, London, UK

This module offers a hands-on approach to mastering Brent futures, trading best practices, and understanding refined product markets. Through simulations, participants learn to manage physical crude and product portfolios, optimizing refinery operations and navigating market structures. The course emphasizes practical skills in hedging, using swaps, and exploring arbitrage opportunities, preparing attendees to effectively manage price risk and leverage market dynamics for strategic advantage.

If you are unable to attend a course, you are welcome to provide a delegate substitution, up to 24 hours prior to the course at no extra charge. If you wish to transfer to a different course a 10% admin charge will be made if the transfer occurs between 10-29 days before the course. If you fail to attend the course on which you are booked and have not given prior notice to International Business House then the course fee will remain payable in full. This cancellation policy is necessary owing to the strict limitation on attendance numbers. IBH reserves the right to amend or cancel any course, course times, dates or published prices.
