Tanker Chartering and Voyage Management course covers:
– the structure of the tanker market
– how information is gathered and disseminated
– how business is quoted, and how proposals are evaluated
– and follows this with a comprehensive study of the post-fixture operations process.

Special attention is given to those elements of a voyage that can impact on costs and profitability for both owners and charterers.

Delegates will undertake exercises to resolve and understand a variety of situations encountered during chartering and operating a voyage contract.

Course Expert

The Tanker Chartering and Voyage Management course lecturer has extensive experience. He has been involved in shipping and trading for more than 45 years. He is the fourth generation of a shipping family.

The course lecturer has been a member of the Baltic Exchange since 1976 and has worked with Lloyd’s underwriter as a shipbroker, ship owner, gasoil futures broker, charterer and commodities trader in London and abroad.
Providing maritime and commodities commercial claims consultancy and bespoke corporate training worldwide. He has been arbitrating maritime disputes since 1994.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Visiting Professor at the IMO’s World Maritime University in Malmo and at Shanghai Maritime University.

If you notify International Business House in writing or via email up to 30 days before the start date of the course, you will receive a full refund less an administration fee of 100£ of the course fee. In addition if you are unable to attend, the following cancellation charges will apply for written notice received: 14-29 days before the course: 50%. 1-14 days before: 100%. If you are unable to attend a course, you are welcome to provide a delegate substitution, up to 24 hours prior to the course at no extra charge. If you wish to transfer to a different course a 10% admin charge will be made if the transfer occurs between 10-29 days before the course. If you fail to attend the course on which you are booked and have not given prior notice to International Business House then the course fee will remain payable in full. This cancellation policy is necessary owing to the strict limitation on attendance numbers. IBH reserves the right to amend or cancel any course, course times, dates or published prices.
